E-Karrus – Your Ideal Budget Electric Vehicle
The Russian company "Concordia" presents its version of a budget electric car, designed to be a more eco-friendly alternative to the famous tuk-tuks. The new model is called E-Karrus.
A prototype of the electric tuk-tuk has already been created, and the first pilot batch will be sent to Cairo in early 2025 to support local entrepreneurs. Around the world, many locally produced electric rickshaws are already in use, but they often rely on outdated and inefficient lead-acid batteries, which are also poorly recycled. In contrast, "Concordia" equips its tuk-tuks with modern removable lithium-ion cells from URBIS electric vehicles.
The main feature of using replaceable lithium batteries is that the vehicle can be sold without including the cost of the batteries, along with the possibility of organizing a sharing and charging system for the batteries at their points of mass usage.
The front panel is equipped with a service LCD screen and a holder for a detachable tablet. The design incorporates eco-friendly materials based on recycled resources, and the battery is reliably protected from moisture.
The main advantage of the new platform is that it can be easily adapted not only for various tasks but also to the production capabilities of each country.
We conducted a detailed study to create a chassis that can be manufactured in the country where this type of transport is in demand. "Concordia" ensured that all production processes would be as simple as possible, not requiring complex equipment, and that all materials would be easily accessible and inexpensive. Together, this makes it possible to create an affordable electric vehicle localized for any part of the world.
